Unifying Retail E-Commerce and Club Allocations on Commerce7
How a self-pour tasting room moved from a patchwork of disconnected tools to Commerce7 as its system of record, with a companion app that keeps the counter fast.
In short: When member billing, retail inventory, tasting allowances, and bar tabs live in separate tools, ownership spends hours auditing spreadsheets while staff behind the bar can’t see who they’re serving. My Pub Marketing moved Uncorked Wine Tastings to Commerce7 as the system of record and connected the companion app to it.
The problem: four places for one guest
Uncorked launched with a lightweight digital membership that did its job: it showed that guests wanted a structured, recurring relationship with the venue. As the venue added a physical bottle club and retail sales, that early set of tools showed its limits:
- Guest records in four places. Billing, website accounts, tasting allowances, and bar purchases each lived in a different tool.
- Spreadsheets before every release. Preparing a club release meant exporting records and cross-referencing them by hand.
- No integrated online bottle shop for browsing, ordering, and in-store pickup.
What changed
My Pub Marketing acted as the venue’s fractional digital lead and Commerce7 implementation specialist.
- An online bottle shop with in-store pickup and order notifications.
- Club tiers in one place. Billing, packing lists, and member privileges are handled in Commerce7.
- A clear line between two inventories. The bar’s POS stays the system of record for pours and food. Commerce7 is the record for retail bottles and club inventory. When bottles move from retail stock to the bar, staff make a short manual adjustment. I chose this over a live sync because two cloud systems fighting over counts during service is the failure to avoid.
- A companion app at the counter. Members open a digital pass, staff scan it, and the flight benefit is checked against the member’s Commerce7 profile so it can’t be redeemed twice.
- Branded, deliverable email. Welcome, allocation, and pickup messages use the venue’s look, with domain authentication records set so they reach the inbox.

The tradeoff
An industry-standard platform means a migration investment and a commitment to standard procedures, including that short manual inventory transfer. The payoff is fewer weekends spent reconciling spreadsheets and staff who spend their shifts hosting guests.
